We do not just work together. We are family.
Our clients are not supported by one agent. They are supported by a father, three sons, and nearly 40 years of real estate experience in Halifax. One family. One file. Every deal.
About the Chisholm Group
A Halifax family real estate team. Four people. One file. A standard we refuse to lower.
The Chisholm Group is a family real estate team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia and licensed under Sutton Group Professional Realty. We serve buyers, sellers, and investors across Halifax Regional Municipality, Truro, the Annapolis Valley, and the South Shore. We have nearly 40 years of combined experience and one of the very few AACI-designated appraisers in Nova Scotia working directly on an agent team.
If you are thinking about buying, selling, or investing in Nova Scotia real estate, reach out. We would love to be your team.
How We Got Here
Dan Chisholm spent years in Calgary as a Regional Sales Manager before relocating to Halifax in 1994 and building his own business covering Atlantic Canada. In 2007, it was his wife BL, a mortgage specialist at RBC, who saw the natural fit and encouraged him to get his real estate license. He joined Sutton Group Professional Realty and never looked back.
What happened next was not planned. One by one his sons found their way into the business. Ben, Mack, and Alex each came to real estate in their own time. Today the four of them work side by side every single day.
We have been trusted by Marchand Homes, one of Halifax's leading builders, since 2017. We are well respected in the Halifax real estate community. The thing our clients consistently tell us is that working with us does not feel like working with an agent. It feels like getting advice from someone who genuinely cares about the outcome. We are available when you need us, honest when it matters, and in your corner from the first conversation to the final signature.
Meet the Team
-

Dan Chisholm
Dan is the foundation. Over 17 years as a licensed REALTOR in Halifax and a lifetime of knowing how to read people and close deals.
-

Ben Chisholm
Ben holds the AACI designation, one of the most rigorous appraisal credentials in Canada. He brings appraisal-level analysis to every deal we work on.
-

Alex Chisholm
Alex specializes in new construction alongside Marchand Homes and owns three investment properties in Nova Scotia. He brings the same competitive fire that made him MVP of the Halifax Metro League to every negotiation.
-

Mack Chisholm
Mack is working toward his own AACI designation and is quickly becoming one of our most trusted voices for clients looking at both resale and new construction.
What Makes Us Different
Family team structure. Dan, Alex, Ben, and Mack are a father and three sons. Every client file gets attention from all four team members rather than a single agent managing dozens of files alone.
In-house AACI appraiser. Ben Chisholm's AACI designation means the team provides appraisal-level pricing analysis on every property. Very few Halifax real estate agent teams include a certified appraiser working directly on client files.
Personal investor experience. The team members own multiple investment properties in Nova Scotia between them. Client advice on investment property comes from direct personal experience owning rental property, not from theory.
Builder partnership with Marchand Homes. The Chisholm Group has been the real estate team for Marchand Homes, one of Halifax's leading home builders, since 2017. This gives the team deep expertise in new construction across HRM.
Halifax roots. Dan Chisholm relocated to Halifax in 1994. Alex, Ben, and Mack Chisholm grew up in Fall River, Nova Scotia (25 mins outside of Halifax). All three sons attended Mount Allison University. The team's local market knowledge is built on decades of living and working in Nova Scotia.
